I recently started live streaming music production @ https://twitch.tv/alter_ethos and I gotta say, I'm surprised by how much I'm actually enjoying it. Much thanks and gratitude to anybody that has tuned in to watch or viewed the re-runs. I'll also be posting them to YouTube for people to view there as well.
Needless to say, the first 5-8 streams were horrific. The sound quality was bad. There was clipping, glitching, scratchiness, stiffness, anxiety, worry, etc...+ the video quality was quite poor. However, I have made great progress and am looking forward to sharing more of my music productions with you.
Every weekday at 10:00 am MST (mountain standard time) I will be crafting tracks from scratch in either Ableton Live 11 or Logic Pro X. I'll be bouncing back and forth between the two. Every track I create from scratch will end up being released as albums titled "The Twitch Tapes". I have 6 tracks already, with more to come.
A bit of history for people that don't know much about me. I originally learned music production in Logic Pro X in 2012. I spent the next 5-6 years strictly producing in Logic. Eventually, I was encouraged to begin working in Ableton Live. Since then, Ableton has become my go-to DAW for on-the-spot creative music productions. It just has the mojo that Logic doesn't when it comes to creating on-the-fly. Logic still has its perks, don't get me wrong. I just find it easier to create within Ableton.
I'm still learning, of course. I'd like to get to a point where I'm able to perform live, using Ableton Live's Looper plug-in. Which I'm currently working on figuring out...and I realize I'm late to the party. I just love making music and I want to continue figuring out how this can become my full time gig. Until then, I won't stop. That is also not the end destination for me. I want to help encourage other independent artists who are also in the same space to keep reaching for that dream as well. Always keep climbing, and keep surrounding yourself with people that water the seeds you plant within yourself. You are also the most powerful cultivator of your life and your dreams. So please remember that as well.
I hope to help as many people as possible on my musical journey. Thanks for joining and tuning in as we continue to explore the possibilities that surround us. Never forget that you are a rockstar, you are capable, and you are loved. Even if it's by strangers you've never met. Those are the people that likely need you the most.
Do keep holding strong to the loved ones that surround you, support you, and love you now; do not take them for granted. They are special and they need you more than ever as well. Never give up, keep going, and don't forget to keep believing in yourself.
